test
continuing from last time lets try rss
wrote a generator for the rss feed that reads the main blog page and tied it into the blog render function now i just need to get the dynamically generated rss feed file out of my notes dir so it doesnt get tracked in git and that should do it. automatic rss!
i wrote it on my phone so i had to get a phone rss reader and went with feedflow from fdroid and its pretty nice if you dont look at it too hard. my major recurring complaint about rss readers is they have less features than a traditional file manager for viewing posts so if you write a bash script to download each blog item as a file, name each by the description and set the modified date to the pubdate you can use nautilous and gedit as a nicer rss reader than any that currently exist. sort alphabetically, ascending, descending, time, searching by name, searching by content. order by size (length). since its files on disk its trivially easy to automate based on feed activity. so many features no rss reader has.
anyway following that theres some more internal automation i want to do to make blogging have less friction and then i have a list of blog posts i want to write. maybe some clean up too. it seems kind of ugly having the source filename in the rendered blog page
update:
todos
x move rss.txt out of my git repo
x only update rss if blog.main is updated
x delete rss.txt from git repo
x fix publish workflow to be easier - automatically find which files to publish ( i moved the entire blog into my main notes so many files arent in the blog )
– tabs vs spaces?
– we (us) should get rid of subdollar coins
– more
x set up rss feed for the notes hub
etc
